English medium in 74 GMC schools

Amaravati: The Guntur Municipal Corporation on Wednesday introduced English medium in 74 schools out of 99 schools following increase in demand for English medium education. The parents are showing interest to admit their children in English Medium Schools.

The GMC feels that if they will start English Medium Schools, students strength will increase in the corporation schools. With the permission of the Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, the GMC introduced English Medium in 74 schools during this academic year.

Addressing the gathering at a meeting held in Vudumula Nagamma Venkata Reddy Municipal Corporation High School, MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy said that GMC started English Medium Schools to teach English Medium to the poor students and added that the GMC provided all the necessary infrastructure in the GMC schools. “We have qualified teachers to teach quality education in the corporation schools,” he said.

He further said that the GMC imparted training to the teachers. He urged the parents to admit their children in the GMC schools and avail facility provided by the GMC. Later, he distributed English books and dictionaries to the students.

MLC A S Rama Krishna said that GMC is providing facilities on par with corporate schools. He thanked the Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana for sanctioning permission to start English Medium. GMC additional commissioner Krishna Kaparthi, schools supervisor NageswaraRao were among those present in the meeting.
