’Bring TTD under RTI purview’

Tirupati: CPM district secretary K Kumar Reddy demanded that the government should bring Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and other temples under the purview of RTI Act. Reddy met Information Commissioner (RTI) Vijay Babu here on Sunday and submitted a representation seeking to bring TTD under the purview of RTI Act to ensure transparency in the administration.
He also sought action against the Collector for not properly implementing the RTI Act at the Collector’s office in Chittoor. He said that an application seeking information on the tour details of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to Chittoor district is pending for more than three months, though the reply has to be given within thirty days after the receipt of the application. He wanted action against the Collector for his failure to provide the info sought under RTI Act.
