Kakinada : DGP J V Ramudu said that the present financial status of the State government was not permitting to provide latest and sophisticated equipment like chopper facility to police in containing Maoists in a more effective way.
He made these remarks while speaking to the media after declaring open the police convention hall on AR police quarters premises, taken up at a cost of Rs 1.35 crore on Wednesday.
On new recruitments in the department, the DGP said that the State government would have to make its own arrangements for provision of training to new recruits as the existing training centre had gone to Telangana during State bifurcation. This is mandatory to train new recruits, he added.
