Rahul to attend Adivasi meet at Chintapalli

AICC vice-president, Rahul Gandhi, will be visiting Chintapalli in Andhra Pradesh to address a national-level Adivasi convention on August 6. Sources in the party stated that Rahul\'s visit would also coincide with his visit to nearby bauxite mining areas to declare solidarity with the locals movement against the mining plans of the TDP government.
New Delhi: AICC vice-president, Rahul Gandhi, will be visiting Chintapalli in Andhra Pradesh to address a national-level Adivasi convention on August 6. Sources in the party stated that Rahul's visit would also coincide with his visit to nearby bauxite mining areas to declare solidarity with the locals movement against the mining plans of the TDP government.
This follows the decision taken a couple of months ago in this regard. The APCC leaders led by N Raghuveera Reddy, had impressed upon Rahul to visit the areas since the State government was indifferent to the plea of the locals and was firm on sanctioning mining rights to private parties much against the wishes of the Adivasis and activists.
