State tops in technology aided governance says Sidda Raghava Rao
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government was committed to offer better services to the people. The government was making best use of the technology to make services available at their finger tips, he said.
Vijayawada: Minister for Transport Sidda Raghava Rao claimed that State was ahead in the country in use of technology in governance.
He along with other Ministers launched the online registration for new vehicles here on Tuesday. Krishna would be the fourth district in the State to have the facility after the three north Andhra districts.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government was committed to offer better services to the people. The government was making best use of the technology to make services available at their finger tips, he said.
The Minister asserted that the government had introduced several services online, including distribution of pension. This had taken the State ahead of others in the country, he claimed. He asserted that other States were trying to follow AP’s lead in use of technology in governance.
Raghava Rao said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu introduced computers in governance during his earlier stint. However, it was neglected by the successive governments from 2004 to 2014, he said.
The State government had already linked Aadhaar for all services. This helped in increasing the revenue for the government and minimising corruption,” the Minister claimed. Referring to digitisation of services in the transport department, the Minister said that the middlemen involvement was brought to zero. “The licenses and registration numbers are made available to the people online.
There is no need for the customer to make rounds to the RTA office,” he added. Transport Commissioner N Balasubrahmanyam said that the department had made 80 services online. The customers can access to these services from their mobile as well, he added. Ministers Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and Kollu Ravindra, Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Varun Motors executive director P V Satyanarayana and others were present.
