Vontimitta will be major pilgrim destination soon: TTD chief
TTD Board chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy said that the Lord Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple here will be developed as a next pilgrim destination. He stated that the TTD is taking up various developmental works in this ancient temple as per the schedule.

Krishnamurthy took part in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Pilgrim Amenities Complex in Vontimitta on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the TTD Board chief said a huge three-storied complex at a cost of Rs 4.6 crore will be ready by next year to accommodate pilgrim devotees. “The complex will also have Annaprasadam hall to serve free food to pilgrims,” he added. However, Krishnamurthy said that the modalities of performing rituals, free food, conducting Teppotsavams etc., will be discussed in the next board meeting. Meanwhile, trust board members AV Ramana, Putta Sudhakar Yadav, local legislator Mallikarjun Reddy, Executive Engineer Krishna Reddy, and Deputy Executive Engineer Balaji were present.
BIRRD, Asia’s best: Krishnamurthy
Tirupati: TTD Trust Board chief Dr Ch Krishnamurthy said that the TTD-run Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) is number one hospital in entire Asia. He said that the BIRRR has been catering to the needs of the poor and weaker sections of the society.
Krishnamurthy on Wednesday inspected the ongoing developmental works taken up at a cost of Rs 40 crore in the hospital with additional operation theatres for the benefit of patients. He said the works will be completed by August-end. BIRRD Director Dr Jagadeesh, Executive Engineer Jaganmohan Reddy and other officials were also present.
