Eluru: Communist Party of India (CPI) Andhra Pradesh Council joint secretary JV Satyanarayana Murthy expressed concern over the centralisation of development at Amaravati at the expense of other districts in the State.

Speaking on the third day of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) State Convention, Murthy said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the time of announcing the Capital Region Development Area (CRDA) had promised equitable development of all the 13 districts in the State but failed to keep his word.

AIYF national Secretary Sangireddy Hanumantha Reddy spoke on the issue of natural resources. He alleged that governments handed over valuable geological deposits, water resources and underwater reserves to multi-national companies.

He expressed concern at the decline in cultivable land in the country and said this would lead to shortage of food in future. N Lenin Babu, B Nagaraju, S Afsar and Katti Ravi comprised the presidium on the third day of the convention.

The delegates passed resolutions on various constructive agitations they intended to take up in future. CPI West Godavari Council secretary Dega Prabhakar, Andhra Pradesh Praja Natya Mandali president Ghani and general secretary Chandra Nayak, AIYF National Council general secretary R Tirumalai, CPI State assistant secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao, AIYF West Godavari Council president Boddani Krishna Kishore and general secretary Hema Shankar and others participated.
