Women entrepreneurs trained by Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP) are not only running manufacturing units of different products but also creating employment opportunities to women and men as well.
Vijayawada: Women entrepreneurs trained by Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP) are not only running manufacturing units of different products but also creating employment opportunities to women and men as well. Along with State and Central governments, banks and various government agencies are rendering assistance for the development of women entrepreneurs in the State.

Actually, ALEAP has trained 45,000 workers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnakata States. Of them several hundred women became entrepreneurs and now settled as proprietors of various business units. Some women entrepreneurs installed stalls at the three-day exhibition-cum-sale organised by ALEAP at Vedika hall in Vijayawada in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited.
These women entrepreneurs informed The Hans India about their achievements and support from the government. D Subbalakshmi garments run by D Subbalakshmi of Madanapalle was successfully in running a small scale industry of manufacturing jute bags, purses, and other products. Subbalakshmi is one of the thousands of entrepreneurs trained by ALEAP.
So far, we imparted training to another 500 women in Madanapalli on making jute products particularly the bags, purses, mirror bags, mobile pouches, etc since there is demand as they are attractive, durable and available at reasonable price. These eco-friendly bags are became household products in cities and towns.
She said the State and Central governments and government organisations are rendering good support to women entrepreneurs of the State. She won the best stall prizes in exhibitions conducted in Ludhiana, Punjab-2014 and Mangalore Karnataka-2012.
Another woman, M Rajeswari, former trainee of ALEAP, running a garments shop in Ongole and taking part in exhibitions and trade fairs in AP and other States.
Both Subbalakshmi and Rajeswari are trying to sell their products in the international market like China. They are going to participate trade fairs to be held in Gunguzhou, China from October 10 to 13. They said the government will reimburse the ticket fares and accommodation expenses but they have to spend the stall rent of Rs 15,000 for each stall.
It will be a memorable experience taking part in the international fair, quipped Subbalakshmi, who hails from Chittoor district. Rajeswari is also running a training centre in Ongole for two-and-half years and imparting training to local women. Rajeswari claimed that she was earning Rs 25,000 a month by running small scale unit and by taking part in exhibitions conducted by government departments.
Summing it up, Ch Aparna, another trainee of ALEAP, Vijayawada, said ‘The training has been quite helpful and showcasing my Maggam and embroidery work in the stall” she added
