Eluru: The Thiru Kalyana Mahotsavam of Lord Sri Venkateswara will be conducted from October 11 to 18 at pilgrim centre Dwaraka Tirumala in West Godavari district. Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao said that all arrangements have been completed after performing the Kalyanotsavam at Dwaraka Tirumala.

The Minister visited Goddess Durga temple at Y-Junction in Prattipadu village of Pentapadu mandal and offered prayers to the goddess. On this occasion, the Minister released the poster of Lord Venkateswara Kalyanotsavam of Dwaraka Tirumala Devasthanam. He also released the invitation of the Kalyanotsavam. The Dwaraka Tirumala Devasthanam Executive Officer Vendra Trinadha Rao felicitated the Minister on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Kalyanotsavam of Lord Venkateswara will be conducted on October 15 at 9 pm at Dwaraka Tirumala. The Rathotsavam will be held at 7 pm on October 16, he added. He directed the Dwaraka Tirumala Devasthanam officials to make all arrangements for the pilgrims on the auspicious days.

The Minister said in view of the heavy crowd of pilgrims at Dwaraka Tirumala temple, the government prepared a plan to expand the national highway at Bhimadole junction into a four-lane road. He said that a footpath will be constructed to the hilltop for the convenience of pilgrims who went to darshan by walk and added that shelters will also be constructed in the way.

Dwaraka Tirumala Devasthanam Superintendent V Nagesh, Pattiapdu kanaka Durga Temple Executive officer BV Chandrasekhar, temple priests Kothalanka Siva Satyanarayana, Subrahmanya and others participated in the programme.
