Devi Navaratri festival organised by Amaravati Samskrutika Samstha, in association with the Department of Language and Culture, concluded on a colourful note at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College in the city on Tuesday. Ghantasala Pavan Kumar and his troupe presented Vishnu Sahasranama Vaibhavam ballet on the concluding day of the fete.

The ballet written by TK Chudamani and choreographed by Pavan Kumar, highlighted the significance of Vishnu Sahasranama in worship of Lord Maha Vishnu. Anusha as Lord Vishnu, Ravali as Goddess Lakshmi, Manjula as Lord Shiva, Davuluri Aparna as Bali Chakravarthy and Pavan Kumar as Hiranyakashyap and Kalki excelled in their respective roles.

Gautami, Jaya, Tanmayi, Haleesha, Divya, Yamini and Vandana who played supporting roles, also performed well. Surabhi Rayalu designed the set for the ballet. Yevade Vadu comedy playlet was also staged by RR Creations of Vijayawada on the concluding day. R Vasudeva Rao, R Mohana Krishna, Pavan Kumar, Nagaraju, Vijaya Kumar, EV Sagar, Ayachitula Ramakrishna and Rajeswarai who acted in the playlet, did justice to their roles.

Many more cultural displays around the city had added colour to the end of the festival. Dasara Navarathri Uthsavalu was organised at Durga Ghat in the city. Sri Durga Malle Swara Swamy vaarla Daevastaman officials and police officers took out the idols of Goddess Kanaka Durga and Lord Mallikarjuna in procession to Teppotsavam on the occasion.
