Kurnool: Thieves struck at the house of a businessman and decamped with huge quantities of gold and silver, on Sunday. Around 70 tolas of gold and 5 kg of silver besides other items were reportedly stolen from the house located at LIC colony near Sita Rama Nagar under 4th Town Police Station limits. According to Circle Inspector GV Nagaraja Rao, Shiva Shankar, a businessman was staying with his family at LIC colony. Two days ago, Shiva Shankar had left for Hyderabad along with his family and came back home on Sunday.
The family was shocked to find the locks to the door of their house broken and immediately informed the police who arrived and took stock of the situation. The Circle Inspector appealed to people to inform them if they were leaving town so that they could patrol the area in the night. He further requested residents to install CCTVs which would help to apprehend the criminals. Kurnool DSP DV Ramana Murthy visited the crime scene.
