Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has chosen Visakha-bound Samata Express to promote its brand-Vizag Steel since Indian Railways are the most cost-effective medium to promote a product.

In this connection, Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu and Minister of Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh flagged off the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam Samata Express after renaming it as Vizag Steel Samata Express at Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi on Thursday in which Steel CMD P Madhusudan was also present.

As part of the train branding exercise, the Vizag Steel brand will prominently feature on the train coaches, train name boards and at train arrival/departure announcements in all stations on the train’s route.

East Coast Railway, Waltair Division facilitated the unique train branding opportunity to the RINL with Indian Railways.

The Railway Minister felt that other Public Sector Undertakings can also avail the benefit of promotion of their brand products through Indian Railways with a vast reach, unmatched to any other medium.

Vizag Steel is the country’s first shore-based integrated steel plant with a capacity of 6.3 mtpa of liquid steel.

With modernisation and upgradation of existing units, RINL will add additional one metric tonnes taking the capacity to 7.3 mtpa and its products have a wide acceptance in the market and having a wide marketing network spread over the country.

The Vizag Steel was used in projects of national importance including Bandra-Worli sea link bridge, Krishnapatnam Port, Alakananda Hydro Project, Common Wealth Games projects and International Cricket Stadium at Vizag.
