Kurnool: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday launched fourth round of Janmabhoomi programme in the State by taking part in a programme at Tadakanapalli, a remote village under Kalluru mandal in Kurnool district with a twin objective of water security promotion in the water-starved areas and digital economy to fight backwardness in Rayalaseema.
Addressing a gathering at the village, the Chief Minister expressed the government’s ambitious plan to wire all the villages with a fiber grid network in the state by end of the current fiscal. The CM promised to provide smart phones to all the households in the village with Rs 1,000 subsidy per piece.
Keeping in mind acute water problem in the Rayalaseema villages, the Chief Minister promised to provide taps for every household in the village and a road up to Jagannadhagattur with a cost of Rs 3.5 crore.
Feeling elated over palakova-making becoming a cottage industry in the village, Chandrababu Naidu instructed the district administration to take measures for a cluster development so as to improve village economy.
Distributing pensions to around 300 senior citizens, Chandrababu Naidu elaborated on how he took pains to extend the solatium to all the pensioners in the state in December which reeled under acute cash crunch with the ban of big notes.
He said he was constantly in touch with the RBI authorities for flow of cash so that the scheme does not get affected.
The CM called upon the people to join hands with the government in its mission to promote water security in the state. He recalled that the government has launched series of water conservation efforts to conserve the precious liquid.
As part of the endeavour, the government has launched a drive to dig farm ponds and revive the defunct borewells, he added.
Naidu said digitisation is the only answer to overcome backwardness, poverty and help remote areas integrate themselves with the mainstream world.
Information relating to markets, weather and education could be accessed from any part with internet as a medium and that it became a top priority for the government, he explained.
