Hyderabad: The CPI has decided to adopt a new strategy to take on the TDP government as well as the main opposition YSRCP. Party leader called upon the Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan to take on government directly on various issues rather than indulging in twitter war.

The party leadership feels that the voters are divided into two groups-one group supporting the TDP, while the other behind Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. With no option left, the weaker sections, Dalits, Minorities and those who are dependent on various trades are blindly following these two parties, hence the CPI feels it was time to tap these sections and create an alternative platform for them by the time the state goes to polls in 2019.

In view of this, the CPI has decided to launch a 40-day bus yatra covering 175 kms from Itchapuram in Srikakulam district to Hindupur in Anantapur district from January 26.

Though the party had taken up many bus yatras in the past, this time they have roped in the support of various Dalit groups, Minority groups and social organizations and have formed Samajika Hakkula Vedika (Forum for Social Justice).

According to Ramakrishna, CPI State secretary, the focus of the bus yatra would be on how the government was neglecting important sectors like Education, Health and welfare of SC, ST, BCs and minorities.

During the yatra, the forum members will cover all the 175 assembly constituencies and will interact with farmers, weavers, people involved in various other trades and tribals affected by Polavaram project particularly the small and tenant farmers who had lost their land but could not get rehabilitation package promised by the government. Prior to the bus yatra, the party will organise a meeting on January 21 at Vijayawada.
