SMK students win prizes in Sparklit-2017

Students of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala (SMK) won prizes in Sparklit-2017 organised by Maris Stella College to mark the 400th death

Vijayawada: Students of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala (SMK) won prizes in Sparklit-2017 organised by Maris Stella College to mark the 400th death anniversary of William Shakespeare. Dr T Vijayalakshmi, principal of SMK, on Thursday said N Bhavani and Group won first prize in western dance, while Ruchita Jain and Group in western singing. Deepika in western solo singing, while Chanundeswari, P Akshara, C Sivani won second prize in quiz.

K Sneha bagged third prize in essay writing, Gayatri in western solo singing. V L Sahitya and team participated in mini-theatre and secured special prize. Sk Afreen and R Goutami bagged the best actor and actress awards for the characters Shylock and Portia in the play ‘The Marchant of Venice’, she said.
