Tirupati: For the first time in pilgrim city, a Delhi-based organisation called National Adventure Foundation (NAF) has introduced paramotoring and parasailing sports for enthusiastic tourists and city residents from Wednesday.

Tirupati: For the first time in pilgrim city, a Delhi-based organisation called National Adventure Foundation (NAF) has introduced paramotoring and parasailing sports for enthusiastic tourists and city residents from Wednesday.

The NAF representatives said that a 5 km fly trip for those interested is available for three days from January 25 to 28 at Thummala Gunta Grounds on the outskirts of the city.

Tourists can fly up to a height of 1,000 feet through paramotoring while second sport parasailing is being organised with a mini truck and a parachute.

The NAF is charging Rs 2,000 per head for a 15-minute trip In paramotoring, there is an open cockpit for pilot to operate the engine and a voyager seat behind pilot seat.

Walkie talkies are being provided to monitor the situation from ground. The tourists have to be less than 75 kgs with physical fitness to take part in paramotoring. A total of 10-member crew is supervising adventurous sports.

The NAF had organised a beach festival at Kakinada in East Godavari recently. “Earlier, we had organised aero sports for tourists in different places like Hyderabad, Kakinada and Visakhapatnam.

In Tirupati, we are running flying trips to 50 tourists and denizens per day. Actual charge for each trip is Rs 5,000 but we are offering for only Rs 2,000 per head for a trip,” said aero sports team leader CV Surya Teja. K Praveen, a student of a defence academy, said that he felt very excited when he flown high in the sky through paramotoring.

“I have seen my home city from a bird view,” he added.
