Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wrote letter to Union government seeking approval to start the construction works of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Mangalagiri. Reviewing the AIIMS works here on Tuesday, the Chief Minster expressed dissatisfaction on delay in works.
He said that the State government has provided required site worth of Rs 1,000 crore but there was no progress in the works. He directed the officials to release Rs 1.93 crore towards AIIMS construction works.
Later taking part in the SC, ST Sub Plan fourth council meeting, Naidu has taken a decision to change the name of SC, ST Sub Plan to SC, ST Sustainable and Inclusive Development Fund
On this occasion, he directed the officials to utilise the funds which were allocated in the specific period, besides asking them to initiate steps to improve the incomes of family.
The meeting also took decision to complete the Ambedkar Memorial Park in Amaravati capital by December 2018. The government accepted the proposal to construct 512 community halls across the State.
Similarly, a study centre will be constructed in Eluru with Rs 5 crore and 20 Ambedkar Bhavans will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 40 crore.
The government would provide 74 new ambulances in Agency areas and tribal sports school would be setup in Araku. Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Ravela Kishore Babu and several officials were also present.
