Guntur: A.P. Mahila Commission general body meeting held in Guntur city on Monday urged the government to give necessary instructions to conduct re-inquiry in Ayesha Meera case. The meeting urged the government to conduct inquiry on the officials responsible for punishing Satyambabu and take stern action against them.

Addressing the meeting A P Mahila Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari said that there is need to punish the guilty in the case. She said that in some T.V. serials are featuring the women as villains, and showing ways to harass them and raised objections over this kind of serials.

The meeting decided to write a letter to the central and state film censor boards on this issue. The meeting recommended the government not to grant station bail to the accused in the acid attack cases and felt that accused should be taken to the police station by walk.

The meeting recommended the government, if a minor girl is raped, government should extend financial assistance immediately and urged the government attach property of the accused and pay compensation to the accused. The meeting urged the government take steps to set up closed circuit cameras where women are working and see that CC cameras are working.
