Dhone police arrested 12 persons in connection with the killing of YSRCP leader Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy and his close aid Boya Sambasivudu. Probe is on to nab some more accused

The DIG and SP speaking to the media persons said Beesannagari Ramanjaneyulu (son of Pedda Beesanna), Kothula Rama Naidu, Kallevari Rama Krishna, Kothula Ramanjaneyulu, Kothula Balu, Kothula Chinna Yellappa, Kothula Pedda Yellappa, Gantala Venkata Ramudu, Gantala Sreenu, Beesannagari Ramanjaneyulu (son of Chinna Lakshmanna), Beesannagari Ramanjaneyulu (son of Chinna Beshanna) and Beesannagari Pedda Beesanna were having rivalry with YSRCP leader C Narayana Reddy.

The accused hatched a plot, waylaid and hacked to death Narayana Reddy and his close aid Sambasivudu on May 21. After committing the crime, all the accused fled from the scene. Following a complaint lodged by Golla Krishna Mohan, a well wisher of the deceased, the Krishna Giri police filed a case and took up investigation.

They said the case has been investigated under the supervision of Dhone Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Baba Fakruddin and in no time the accused were arrested at Kalva Bugga on Wednesday. Tractors and deadly weapons used by them for committing the twin murders were seized from them, the officers said.

A picket comprising one Sub-Inspector and Armed Reserve Force staff was set up at Cherukulapadu village to ensure that no untoward incidents take place. Investigation is underway to nab some more persons in connection with the case. The officers warned that the guilty would not be spared from punishment irrespective of their status.All the arrested would be produced in the court for further action, the DIG said.
