Chairman promises to develop Port Hockey ground
Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman M T Krishna Babu promised that the Port Hockey ground at Salagramapuram would be developed for the hockey players.He was the chief guest at the valedictory of hockey summer coaching camp held at the Port Diamond Jubilee Outdoor Stadium here on Sunday under the aegis of Hockey Visakhapatnam District.
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman M T Krishna Babu promised that the Port Hockey ground at Salagramapuram would be developed for the hockey players.He was the chief guest at the valedictory of hockey summer coaching camp held at the Port Diamond Jubilee Outdoor Stadium here on Sunday under the aegis of Hockey Visakhapatnam District.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Babu asked the officials and Hockey Visakhapatnam District to conduct a hockey tournament in the name of Chairman Cup for which the Port Trust will provide facilities amid a loud cheers from the sportspersons. He further advised to conduct the hockey tourney at the Diamond Jubilee Outdoor Stadium soon after the renovation work is completed and assured help to the hockey association for conducting tournaments.
Later, he distributed hockey kits to the candidates who attended the coaching camp. Earlier, association executive president Dr S K E Appa Rao gave an account on the achievements of the boys and girls during 2015-16 and 2016-17. Association president K V Krishna Kumar, senior Deputy CAO D Ramana Murthy, sports officers M S Kumar and M V Manikyalu, B Gopalakrishna, K Bhavani Shankara Rao and T Satyamrutham were also present.
