Srikakulam: Both the print and electronic media playing a vital role for effective implementation of government welfare schemes and other activities, lauded additional joint collector P Rajanikantha Rao. He was speaking at an awareness meeting on ‘Media role in rural development’ hosted by District Water Resources Management Agency (DWMA) and organised by Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) here on Sunday.

DWMA project director H Kurma Rao said that journalist should be aware of welfare schemes and government programmes so that they can report anomalies effectively which will ultimately helps public at large. District public relations officer L Ramesh, APUWJ state president Nalli Dharma Rao, Press Club president and general secretary SV Satya Prasad, Bagadi Appala Naidu other senior journalists, officials also spoke.
