Kakinada: The district collector, East Godavari, Kartikeya Mishra instructed the district officers of various department to take immediate action on the representations received from the public in Meekosam grievance cell being conducted at collectorate, Kakinada on every Monday. He, along with joint collector A Mallikarjuna, received petitions from the public at the collectorate office on Monday .

In this connection, the collector directed the officials to submit report on action taken on representations received from people and this action should reflect the realistic solution to the problem. In the grievance cell, many people requested sanction of pensions and houses.

Some petitioners from Kakinada said that houses were not allotted to them in spite of paying the prescribed amount. Responding to this complaint, in-charge project director, Housing , J Radha Krishna Murthy said that nearly 1,500 beneficiaries had paid the money and 816 were selected for allotment of houses through lottery and the remaining are pending. In this connection, the collector directed the PD to identify the land in Kakinada for construction of houses within one month and promised them to do justice.

With regard to pensions, Mishra said that the applications will be considered as per the government orders based on the complaint received from the SC beneficiaries that bank loans were not sanctioned for taking up self help programs, in this context collector directed the LDM and EDSC Corporation to coordinate with banks for sanctioning of loans.

Responding to the request made by Danam Sadhana of Eleswaram to trace out her husband who is working in CRPF Battalion, Imphal, whose where bouts are not known since May 17, after returning to Imphal after availing leave here in the district.

The collector directed the DRO to talk to the CRPF at Imphal on this issue to trace him. The collector asked the officers concerned to take immediate action. Separate arrangements were made to receive representations at collectorate for the aged, the disabled and women. As many as 406 representations were received on various issues on Monday grievance.
