TMC Commissioner calls all-party meeting, assures villagers of scientific management of solid waste
This amicable conclusion came out in the all political party leaders meeting with villagers called by TMC Commissioner Ch Harikiran on Monday evening here.In this meeting CR Puram villagers mainly objected to setting up Jindal power plant from bio waste in the village surroundings.
They expressed their dissatisfaction on lack of action on taking of preventive measures of pollution at dumping yard. Finally they clarified to the commissioner that they have no objection to dump the garbage there, but they have been opposing the establishing of power plant from bio waste.
On this issue Commissioner assured to the villagers that TMC is going to setup plastic sheet layers at dumping yard for prevention of leaching of the chemicals into the ground. He announced in the meeting with an outlay of Rs 60 lakh this work will start soon within days.
He clearly mentioned that construction of Jindal power plant site yet to be finalised, so villagers need not worry on this issue.
Prior to this development, the Commissioner Ch Harikiran explained through power point presentation (PPP) how they are proposing to set up the solid waste management (SWM) system in a scientific manner at CR Puram dumping yard.
Tirupati MLA Suguna, CR Puram sarpanch Ravikumar, MPTC Sudhakar Reddy, CPM secretary Kumar Reddy, CPI secretary Rama Naidu, Chamber of Commerce President Manjunath, BJP leader Bhanu Prakash Reddy, TDP leaders Sudhakar Reddy, Congress leader Manganti Gopal Reddy, Rayalaseema Porata Samithi convener Naveen Kumar Reddy and TMC officials were present.
