Alternative transit system for Vijayawada
Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana said that an alternative transit system in lieu of Metro Rail would be adopted for Vijayawada.
Amaravati: Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana said that an alternative transit system in lieu of Metro Rail would be adopted for Vijayawada.
Speaking to reporters at Secretariat on Monday, the Minister said he along with officials studied four types of transit system in Singapore and China and a report would be submitted to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on their observations.
He opined that electric buses or mono rail system may fit Vijayawada and the expenditure would be reduced by 40 per cent in comparison with Metro rail system.
“A formal decision will be taken after discussion with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu” he said. The Minister also said representatives of Norman and Foster will visit Amaravati for three days.
