An awareness meeting on ragging was held at Jakir Hussain College under the jurisdiction of Ibrahimpatnam police station here on Saturday. Inspector Chavan, Sub-Inspectors, Mahila Mitra Committee members, college management, faculty members, students took part in the programme.
Vijayawada: An awareness meeting on ragging was held at Jakir Hussain College under the jurisdiction of Ibrahimpatnam police station here on Saturday. Inspector Chavan, Sub-Inspectors, Mahila Mitra Committee members, college management, faculty members, students took part in the programme.
A similar awareness meeting was also held at Loyola Engineering College. Central Zone ACP N Satyanandam, Women’s Police Station ACP Naidu, Inspector Umamaheswara Rao, Sub-Inspectors, Mahila Mitra Committee members, management, faculty and others were present.
The two programmes were held by the police department under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Gautam Sawang. The main motto of these awareness programmes is to enlighten parents, students, lecturers, college managements over the laws linked to anti-ragging. The meetings were being conducted since July 10, according to a press release of the police department.
Guntur: Farmers, who are cultivating paddy, should pay crop insurance premium of Rs 320 per acre before August 21 to insure crops under the Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme (PMFBY). The government will insure the crop for Rs 16,000 per acre under the scheme. If the crop is damaged, it will pay compensation based on the damage.
Similarly, for red gram the farmers should pay Rs 320 premium per acre, crop will be insured for Rs 16,000 per acre. Farmers cultivating black gram should pay Rs 180 premium, the crop will be insured for Rs 9000 per acre. Farmers cultivating turmeric should pay crop insurance premium of Rs 2,400 per acre.
