DGP awards IPS medal to Ongole constable
DGP Nanduri Sambasivarao awarded the Impressive Public Service (IPS) Medal to Ch MK Naidu, constable at Ongole taluka police station for his courageous service on Monday.

Ch ML Naidu, PC 1624, is on duty in Rakshak 4 at Vengamukkalapalem Summer Storage Tank on May 12. He received information that an 8-year-old boy Anand Babu, a resident of Old Sujatha Nagar slipped into the summer storage tank while practicing cycling on the tank bund. Learning about the accident, the constable jumped into the tank and rescued the boy.
On Monday, the DGP awarded the IPS Medal, a citation and a cash award of Rs. 15,000 for immediately responding to the grievance and saving the boy from drowning. SP B Satya Yesubabu and other district police officials appreciated the constable for his brave heart.
