It may be recalled that there were misappropriations in turmeric procurement centre at Udayagiri where some benamis sold stocks of low-grade quality crop at higher rate to the Markfed authorities and they mentioned names of villagers where the crop was not cultivated.

These VROs gave cultivation certificates to the benamis that the crop was being cultivated in the concerned villages. After due enquiry by the Joint Collector-2, Markfed relieved District Manager Ramadevi from duties and proposed action against the revenue staff members at various villages who were also part of the scam.

District Collector issued orders late on Saturday suspending the 14 Village Revenue Officers making responsible for involving in misappropriation of public money under Rule 3 of APCS (Conduct) Rules 1964.
