ONGC has come forward to donate Rs 13 crore towards Swachh Mission at Tirumala
ONGC Director for HR, DD Mishra, called on TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal at the latter’s chambers at the TTD Administrative building in Tirupati on Monday and handed over a cheque for Rs 6,78,25,800 towards the Swachh initiative.
Speaking on this occasion, TTD EO Singhal said Tirumala has been selected under the Swachh Bharat Mission as one of the top 10 places among 100 iconic heritage, spiritual and cultural places in the country in the first phase itself.
The ONGC has come forward to fund Rs 13 crore towards Swachh Mission at Tirumala. “Today they have released about 6.78 cr as first installment grant. I thank ONGC for their initiative,” he maintained.
Complementing the efforts of the temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in taking forward the Clean India campaign in an effective manner in various aspects, the Director HR of ONGC DD Mishra said under the Swachh Bharat Mission initiative, the Centre has taken up special clean-up initiative and selected Swachh iconic places.
He said the ONGC will soon release the second installment to TTD. He thanked TTD machinery for their Swachh initiatives to keep Tirumala and its premises clean and hygienic.
Earlier, the TTD EO along with TTD Chief Engineer Chandra Sekhar Reddy gave a Power Point Presentation report over the various activities including waste water management, conventional energy resources, health and sanitation and other various aspects undertaken by the TTD.
SE-II Ramachandra Reddy, Transport GM Sesha Reddy, SE Electricals Venkateswarulu, DFO Sivaram Prasad, ONGC representatives including SSC Partiban, DMR Sekhar, Dr Sajid Jameel and N Mani were also present.
