The government is planning to develop Alluri Sitaramaraju Memorial Tribal Museum by displaying the life style of tribals. A workshop was convened in the city to discuss about the exhibits, videos, photos in the museum. Special Commissioner of Tribal Welfare Dr M Padma presided over the workshop.

Visakhapatnam: The government is planning to develop Alluri Sitaramaraju Memorial Tribal Museum by displaying the life style of tribals. A workshop was convened in the city to discuss about the exhibits, videos, photos in the museum. Special Commissioner of Tribal Welfare Dr M Padma presided over the workshop.

Speaking on the occasion, the Special Commissioner directed the engineers to kick-start the civil works of the museum without further delay. There are 34 sub-tribe groups among tribals in the state.

The museum should be developed by placing complete information about the life style of each sub-tribe, agriculture works, agro tools, household articles they have been using, the culture, tradition, handicrafts, weapons, paintings and costumes. The officials should make documentaries on the issues and place in the museum, Padma said.

In the workshop, the officials decided to make short films and videos about the tribal culture and traditions in the villages. The museum will be set up in various galleries to display the exhibits. The details of the exhibits and documentaries will be displayed in Telugu, English and Hindi languages.

The workshop also decided to launch an exclusive app to provide entire documentation placed in the museum. Project Officer of ITDA Sitampet Siva Shankar, additional director of Tribal Welfare BV Balayogi, adviser V China Veerabhadrudu, director of Tribal Research Mission Mandarani, deputy director P Adinarayana and several other officials were present.
