Lok Satta Party Chief Dr Jaya Prakash Narayan said that there will be no meaning for democracy without curbing flow of money to influence voters.
Kakinada: Lok Satta Party Chief Dr Jaya Prakash Narayan said that there will be no meaning for democracy without curbing flow of money to influence voters.
In a press meet at Ramcosabuilding here on Wednesday, Jaya Prakash said that in the recently held Kakinada Corporation elections, Rs 50 to Rs 60 crore have been spent.

Stating that Lok Satta determined to change this type of system, he addedtheir party started a 100-day long Surajya Yatrato educate people in Telugu states.
Though India has many natural resources, the development is not in the desired way due to lopsided policies, he said.
To educate people, Lok Satta framed six points for better rule and administration on state budget, education, health, police, farmers and Central government’sshare, he said and added “Our state budget in 2017-18 is nearly Rs 1.57 lakh crores. Even though the government’s figures are high there is no development. The situation remains the same for past 40 years.”
Stating that civic bodies plagued with corruption, he suggested to put an end this menace.
He criticized the government officials and politicians for sending their children to corporate schoolsalthough the government schools have qualified teachers.
He said quality education is not reaching the school children and added the government is spending Rs 23,000 crore on education which is not sufficient.
He said nearly 6 lakh people in AP have no access to medical facilities and more funds should be accorded for medical and health sector in budget.
He said that Central government was collecting on an average Rs 36 from each person in the form of taxes.But in return it was only spending Rs 4 for development.
JP said that the government should extend assistance to distressed farmers and give minimum support price for their price. UpplapatiMachiraju and BandaruRammohan Rao also participated.
