Department of Archeology and Museums on Wednesday celebrated World Tourism Day on Kondapalli fort. Commissioner of the department of archeology and museums G Vani Mohan was the chief guest on the occasion.

A work shop was organised by the department of Archeology and Museums on how to protect the Kondapalli fort. Assistant directors of the department from 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh, consultants from New Delhi participated in the workshop and Tourism Day celebrations.

Addressing the gathering Vani Mohan has said the Government sanctioned funds recently for the development and conservation of Kondapalli fort. She said Kondapalli fort is the only big fort in Krishna district and located on Vijayawada-Hyderabad highway and can be developed as a tourist destination in the capital region of Amaravati.
