KE Krishna Murthy opens Revenue and Survey Training Academy

Inaugurating the State-Level Revenue and Survey Training Academy at Extension Training Centre in Samalkot on Wednesday, Krishna Murthy said that Academy with state-of-the-art facilities would train 100 employees from various departments.
He informed that the Academy was first established in Hyderabad in 1989 and later shifted to Gachhibowli campus in 2005. At the time of state bifurcation, the APRSTA was included in the 10th schedule and was shifted to Commissioner SS&LR Narayanaguda. He added till now no training centre has been established in the AP to train the revenue staff and VROs.
Krishna Murthy said the new academy would train revenue staff, survey staff and IAS officers who are in the cadre of trainee sub-collectors. The minister said that necessary infrastructure would be provided for the academy to make it a permanent academy in the place.
He said the problems regarding survey of land was solved with set up of Meebhoomi website and Mee Intiki Mee Bhoomi programmes and issue of certificates to students at doorsteps has received a good response.He said steps would be taken to fill vacant surveyors’ posts soon.
Participating in the programme, Home Minister N Chinarajappa said the academy would play vital role in honing skills of staff. In this connection, Rajappa requested the revenue minister to recruit required survey staff in the state.
Special Commissioner Survey Settlement and Land Records Ch Vijaya Mohan said the academy would train employees of revenue and survey department on surveying of land records, which is very important in the revenue administration and a separate calendar was prepared for training the staff in the academy.
Collector Kartikeya Mishra said that training would be given to probationary IAS officers, judicial staff, deputy surveyors and revenue staff from November 16. He informed that Central Plantation Research Institute and other academies would also be established at Samalkot.
JC A Mallikarjuna, Sub Collector Saikanth Varma, AP Revenue Association chief B Venkateswarlu and AP Survey Employees Association chief Ramakrishna were present.
