Kakinada: District collector Kartikeya Misra accompanied by Himanshu Shukla, AP Tourism Development Corporation managing director, inspected the tourism infrastructure development works being taken up at a cost of Rs 45 crores at Kakinada beach under Swadeshi Darshan programme on Tuesday. Misra directed the contractors to take up quality works in landscape, suspension bridge, shopping complexes, convention centre and amphitheatre, etc., to attract more tourists to this beach.

Inspecting the landscape works being taken up at a cost of Rs 2 crores, the collector directed the civil works contractor to clean the beach by November 10 and to maintain greenery at the beach. He also ordered the civil contractors to expedite the works relating to convention centre, shopping complex, roads, water fountain and suspension bridge by the proposed Kakinada beach festival in December.

On Kakinada beach festival, Misra held a review with the event managers of Wizcraft and asked them to make necessary arrangements to meet huge rush during the cultural programmes as famous music directors like AR Rehman and SP Balasubrahmanyam were expected to attend the event.
