Participating in the valedictory session of state-level youth festival at Kasturba Kalakshetram on Sunday, he said the festival is aimed to improve national integration, communal harmony, leadership qualities, brotherhood and courageous nature among the youth.
The minister said that he had introduced CMEY groups in the state in 1996 when he was serving as youth affairs minister and distributed sports material to them.
He said the State government has been encouraging youth in many ways and said winner of state-level events would be sent to national-level event to be held in Jaipur on January 12.
Mayor Aziz said youth must take Swamy Vivekananda and former President Abdul Kalam as their role models to shape their future.In-charge collector Imtiaz said many such events are going to happen in the city in the coming months. Joint Collector-2 VVS Reddy, SETNEL CEO Subrahmanyam and MLC B Ravi Chandra others were present.
Earlier, Somireddy participated in a special grievances programme at Venkatachalam and said they would resolve all issues relating to Deepam gas connections, ration cards and pensions in the upcoming Janmabhoomi programme held in January. He said 5,425 beneficiaries in the mandal were getting pensions of Rs 60.33 lakh every month. He said 1,344 ration cards would be issued shortly.
The minister said they had sanctioned 993 tractors to farmers under Rythu Ratham programme in the district and only beneficiaries of Sarvepalli constituency were benefitted with 116 tractors.
