Former Union Minister and former Tirupati MP Chinta Mohan has demanded that the Centre order a CBI inquiry into the Polavaram project as crores of rupees corruption took place in the project works.
Eluru: Former Union Minister and former Tirupati MP Chinta Mohan has demanded that the Centre order a CBI inquiry into the Polavaram project as crores of rupees corruption took place in the project works.
Addressing media here on Wednesday, the former MP said that the Polavaram project which was a dream of Andhra Pradesh people, was now in the grip of corruption. He stated that it is not “Polavaram” but “a gift of corruption” (Aviniiti Varam).
The former Union Minister said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had differences with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari over the share of corruption amounts and following this, the Centre has halted the project construction works.
He said the Chief Minister has invited foreign contractors to indulge in corruption in the project construction. “Nitin Gadkari is the most corrupted politician,” Chinta Mohan alleged stating that over the sharing of the corruption amount, there was a dispute between Chandrababu and Nitin Gadkari.
He said over the six decades, two communities are ruling the state and no other community had sworn in as chief minister. “Is there no leader from the five districts of the Godavari and north Andhra Pradesh to become Chief Minister,” he questioned. He called upon Kapus, Dalits and BCs to unite to capture the power in the state.
He suggested the Kapus and BCs not to quarrel each other on the reservations. “The proposed Kapu reservation could not win in the court of law” he reiterated. He suggested the YSRCP Chief Jaganmohan Reddy, who is on Padayatra to withdraw his dream of becoming a Chief Minister. He said that the Chandrababu Naidu was diverting the people on every issue to become Chief Minister next term by showing the incomplete Polavaram project.
He pointed out that he tried to bring social justice through a fight and invited Kanshi Ram from UP where he achieved the goal to give power to Dalits and BCs. However, the then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and former Chief Minister Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy has played the divisionism in Dalits.
