Visakhapatnam: The Beach Road was flooded with people on the last day of Visakha Utsav on Saturday. The three-day mega tourism and cultural extravaganza concluded on a high note. Union Minister YVS Chaudhary was tehe chief guest at the grand finale.

Majority of the visitors paid a visit to TU-142 Aircraft Museum, INS Kurusura Submarine Museum and flower show at VUDA Park. Famous magician BS Reddy programme mesmerised the audience. ‘Missing head,’ ‘Half cut human body’ and creating national flag from the air were the highlights at the magic show. Local talens from Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts performed several colourful programmes.

As the rumours spread that the MLAs of the district boycott the utsav, MLAs Palla Srinivasa Rao, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murty, Peela Govinda Satyanarayana, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu and MP K Haribabu attended the valedictory programme.

Ministers Kamineni Srinivas, Pithani Satyanarayana, Kalva Srinivasulu, P Pulla Rao and Ganta Srinivasa Rao were present on the final day. The Ministers selected the winners of through lucky draw and presented prizes. Speaking on the occasion, the Ministers said that with the massive success of Visakha Utsav, the city would get an international identity.

The guests also presented the certificates and awards to the artistes and supporting staff. Prizes also awarded to the winners of various sports and games and various other competitions conducted for the college and school students on the occasion.

R Jaiswal, K Satyavathi and Vanajakshi elected for the foreign tours in the lucky draw. One Prema Kumar won Royal Enfield and 50 grams gold won by Madhu. Lucky coupon bearing number 054733 won bumper prize Maruti car.
