2 held in connection with thefts

Visakhapatnam: Kancharpalem police arrested a person involved in many thefts in the city and also arrested a woman who assisted him by selling the stolen items here on Tuesday.

Addressing media, Crime CI N Sai said the accused Md Mustaffa, a resident of Ramnagar and a part-time auto driver, was accused in a theft case in 2016 at Journalist colony and the woman Neelapu Ramani, who is doing a scrap business in the city, was arrested for assisting Mustaffa in selling the theft items.

The police recovered 72 grams gold and 30 tulas of silver items from their possession.
