Bhimavaram: Students of mechanical engineering department at SRKR Engineering College here have designed a remote agri rope sprayer to help the poly house farmers spray chemical without any hazards to human beings.
The students-- KKS Suresh Reddy, U Vijayavarma, PSVRK Vamsi, Y Prem and USS Varma -- designed and fabricated the sprayer with locally available material like aluminum tank, copper poles,12 volts battery with 2.5 amps capacity with a small capacity motor. They demonstrated the sprayer at Undi Krishi Vijnan Kendra (KVK) poly house in the presence of KVK scientists.
The students expressed concern that during chemical spraying, some of the agriculture labourers had been facing chemical effect which was proving hazardous sometimes. “We designed the sprayer which is simple in maintenance.
There is no need for human beings to spray the chemical. They need to fill the tank only and it will work with remote operation.
The sprayer controls the spraying quantity of the chemical also,” the students explained.
Head of the mechanical engineering department, Dr K Brahmaraju said that their students had successfully designing innovative things to meet societal needs.
Students designed this project under the guidance of mechanical engineering department assistant professor V Manikantha.
The KVK head Dr Mallikarjunarao, the SRKR Engineering College principal Dr G Pardhasaradhi Varma, the college president, Sagi Prasada Raju and secretary and correspondent Sagi Vithal Rangaraju congratulated the students.
