Akiveedu: People belonging to ninth and tenth wards in Akiveedu Panchayat besieged the EPDCL office on Friday, demanding that the officials solve the low-voltage problem in these wards.
The agitators, including women, reached Panchayat office in the morning and started their protest by besieging the office.
The people of Jawahar Nagar and other areas in the wards were facing low-voltage, high-voltage and improper supply of power over the last one month.
They complained that even they wandered around the EPDCL office to solve the problem, there was no response from the officials or the staff.
Due to improper supply of power, they did not get the drinking water. The women said that as the power went off in the nights, they were spending sleepless nights with mosquito bites. They submitted a memorandum to the AE in the office.
The Assistant Engineer of EPDCL, P Srinivas said that additional transformer would be erected to solve the low-voltage problem and steps would be taken to improve the power supply.
