Officials asked to speed up runway expansion works

Vijayawada: Collector B Lakshmikantham on Monday directed the officials of Airport Authority of India, revenue, R and B to speed up the works related to the expansion of runway and other infrastructure works in nearby villages. The collector convened a meeting with the officials at the airport and discussed the progress of the works.
He asked the R and B officials to complete the Buddhavaram road works and Gannavaram-Puttagunta road works as early as possible. He also instructed the officials to complete the construction of houses being constructed under the R and R package.
He said the development works valued at Rs1.30 crore were taken up with the funds of AAI under the corporate social responsibility in the villages near the airport and asked the officials to complete the works as early as possible.
He said the runway expansion works were already delayed and instructed the officials to complete them at the earliest. Nuzvid RDO Ch Rangaia, Airport Director G Madhusudan Rao and other officials attended the meeting.
