Akiveedu: Weightlifter Khadga Siromani who secured 126 medals so far, get financial help of Rs 50,000 from TDP leaders of Kalla mandal Kandula Mallikharjuna Rao, Kaluva Lakshmi and others at a function held here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Siromani said that she direly need financial help to participate in Olympics to be held in 2022.
In order to get nutritious food, a sportsperson requires Rs 6 lakh every year.
She said though many sportspersons aspire to reach Olympics, their dream was not fulfilled because of their poverty.
