Handicraft workers asked to utilise Adarana-2 scheme

Ongole: Andhra Pradesh State Vaddera Federation chairman Devandla Murali asked the handicraft workers and artisans to utilise Adarana-2 scheme to get advanced tools and increase revenue.
He organised a meeting with the executive director of BC Corporation in Ongole on Tuesday evening.
Murali said that the Adarana scheme was introduced in 1999 by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to offer modern tools to the handicraft workers.
After he re-elected as the chief minister, Naidu introduced Adarana-2 programme to offer advanced tools to 2.5 lakh workers.
But the number of registered beneficiaries was about 4.5 lakh, he announced. He said that the chief minister had sanctioned Rs 750 crore to give tools to the workers and the selection of the beneficiaries was already started from July 14 in all districts.
He advised the registered beneficiaries to select the tools ranging from Rs 10,000 to 30,000 cost depending on their need and availability at the MPDO office during selection interview.
He advised them to utilise the advanced tools to create more income to them and lead a happy life.
