Bhimavaram: All the civil engineers should take inspiration from Nagarjuna Sagar dam contractor Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju for his excellent quality construction.
He was awarded with ‘Metal King’ by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, said SRKR Engineering College secretary and correspondent Sagi Vittal Ranga Raju on the 85th birth anniversary of Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju here on Thursday.
Tributes were paid to Ramakrishnam Raju by the management, staff and students at his bronze statue on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Ranga Raju said that Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju, hailed from a small village China Amiram, had constructed a great project and made the nation proud.
Every student should take him as inspiration for his dedication towards the work. He praised the faculty of SRKR College for their efforts which gained international recognition.
He said that the college was established at his native village. College principal Dr Parthasaradhi, Dr GV Padma Raju, Dr PV Rama Raju, Dr P Kanta Raju, JV Narsimha Raju and others were present.
