Rotary Club of Vijayawada donates for Anna Canteen
Sports and Youth Minister Kollu Ravindra appreciated the service motto of Rotary Club, Vijayawada Sri Durga for announcing Rs 50,000 donation to the management of Anna Canteen at a programme held here on Sunday The announcement was made on the occasion of taking charge of the new executive body of Rotary Club Sri Durga
Vijayawada: Sports and Youth Minister Kollu Ravindra appreciated the service motto of Rotary Club, Vijayawada Sri Durga for announcing Rs 50,000 donation to the management of Anna Canteen at a programme held here on Sunday. The announcement was made on the occasion of taking charge of the new executive body of Rotary Club Sri Durga.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the club had a reputation for its service for the society and wished the newly-elected executive members to carry it forward.
The club president, D Nagarjuna and secretary KV Srinivasa Rao said that Rotary Club was rendering service to society and the needy. They informed that they would meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and hand over the amount.
The club had distributed scholarships to the poor for education, distributed benches and chairs to schools, organised free medical camps for the poor and gave free training in tailoring and distributed sewing machines for free.
New executive members Satish Agarwal, Dasari Harikrishna, former club governor GV Rama Rao, treasurer BDV Prasad and others were present.
