Nellore: Unidentified persons murdered an elderly woman at Kacherimitta in Kavali town limits.
The incident came to light when local people found Jaya Lakshmi (65) a retired teacher, dead in her house and informed to the police on Saturday evening.
II Town police, who received information, rushed to the spot and pressed sniffer dog and CLUES team into service for evidence.
Police suspect she was killed on Friday night and the intruders battered her head and killed her.
The cops said they received a complaint and were investigating the case.
It was said the accused spread chilli powder in the house to divert the attention of the dog.
