Gurla (Vizianagaram): In a gruesome incident, a man slammed the head of his daughter onto the floor. This brutal, inhuman incident took place at Garikivalasa village in Gurla mandal in the district on Saturday.
Avala Srinivasa Rao of Gariki Valasa married a woman hailing from Kenguva village a few years ago, but they were separated. Later, he married Adi Lakshmi of Kalavacharla village.
But he was addicted to alcohol and used to bash up his wife. Later, he left home deserting his wife.His wife launched a hunt and finally, found him and caught him with the help of her relatives.
Later, she lodged a complaint with police. Police convinced the couple in the presence of elders and sent home. But in the early hours of Saturday, Adilakshmi went out to bring water.
Srinivas, who was at home, slammed the head of his daughter Sumalatha onto the floor.
His wife entered the house and shocked to see the baby in a pool of blood. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and registered a case.
