8 players from Prakasam district selected for National Fencing Championship
The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that eight players from the district for Under14 and Under17 teams were selected for the participation in the national fencing championship scheduled to be held in second week of this month
Ongole: The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that eight players from the district for Under-14 and Under-17 teams were selected for the participation in the national fencing championship scheduled to be held in second week of this month.
The Ongole MLA, Damacharla Janardhana Rao and his wife Satyalatha appreciated the players on Tuesday and wished them all success and more medals to the district.
The Prakasam district Fencing Association general secretary, V Nageswara Rao, president Balisetty Nageswara Rao announced that P Hanish was selected in Epee, K Naga Jahnavi was selected in Sabre and S Naga Pranavi was selected in Foil categories for the Andhra Pradesh state Under-14 team while E Sivani was selected in Sabre, J Sai Ankita was selected in Epee, KV Satyasai was selected in Sabre, T Raj Kumar selected in Epee and S Praneeth in Foil categories for the Andhra Pradesh state Under-17 team by winning overall championship in state-level competition held recently.
They said that these players would participate in the National Fencing Championship at Katak in Odisha from September 12 to 16.
The players along with the president and secretary of the district fencing association and their coaches RN Chiranjeevi, R Vijayalakshmi, K Kushal Singh and B Bharat and PETs P Vijay Kumar and D Jyotsna Devi met the MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao at his residence and received his appreciation on Tuesday.
