Vijayawada: The BJP national leadership has plans to take total control of party's AP unit affairs from October-end. According to sources, the national leadership wants to strengthen its party base by doing some favours to state, like announcing railway zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters and establishing steel factory in Kadapa district.

At the same time, the party national leadership wants to encourage defections from other parties. According to sources, the party is not ready to leave the state unit in its present situation and revamp it from grass-root level. Besides, the state leadership also chalked out plans to get credit to the BJP after announcement of proposed favours to the state. As per the plans, the BJP state unit has decided to meet national leaders with special delegation.

The delegations will meet officials of Railway Ministry and the Steel along with other top BJP national leaders and highlight the developments to create a momentum in the state. One senior leader on condition of anonymity said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and TDP will claim credit if the Centre announce some favours at this juncture.

He also said that the BJP was planning to claim total credit for the announcement of the railway zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters and for establishment of steel factory in Kadapa district.

Meanwhile, the BJP state unit wants to conduct tours with top leaders and the Union ministers in the state after the announcement of favours. BJP national president Amit Shah and several other top leaders will take part in the meetings. The BJP national leadership is also making efforts to induct some prominent persons into party-fold.
