Rajamahendravaram: Congress organised protest programmes at petrol bunks in the city here on Wednesday, demanding that the state and Central governments reduce petrol and diesel prices immediately.
Participating in the protest programme, the party city unit president, N Srinivas said the BJP government was increasing the prices of petrol and diesel though fuel prices in international market reduced.
The BJP government many a time hiked the prices during the last four-and-a- half years.
Both state and Central governments were mounting financial burden on the people by increasing the prices of petrol and diesel.
During the Congress regime, petrol and diesel prices were under control and BJP government shattered the dreams of the people in all aspects, he added.
Scores of party activists participated.
