Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association (APNGOs) has decided to continue their fight for scrapping of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and for revival of old pension scheme to the employees.

The APNGOs state executive body meeting was organised at the APNGOs home at Gandhi Nagar here on Sunday and leaders decided to continue their fight for scrapping of CPS.

Speaking on the occasion, APNGOs association president P Ashok Babu demanded the state government to pass a resolution in the Assembly on scrapping of CPS and for revival of old pension scheme. He said the association would support the struggle being made by 1.80 lakh employees working in various departments in the government for scrapping of CPS.

He said the employee will not remain silent when their pension amount was invested in the stock market, which is very speculative. He said the employees across the country would go on one-day strike on November 15 opposing the CPS.

He said Chalo Raj Bhavan will be observed across India on October 18 wherein Vijayawada the employees would go to any Central government office to submit a representation as there was no Raj Bhavan in the state.

Referring to contract and outsourcing employees, Ashok Babu said that over 30,000 contract employees and 50,000 outsourcing staff have been demanding for regularisation of their services.

He said the association would continue its fight with the state government for regularisation of contract and outsourcing employees’ services. He questioned how a contract or outsourcing employee can run a family with a meagre salary of Rs 15,000 a month.

He compared the contract system as slavery and demanded that the government should concede to the demands of outsourcing and contract employees.

Referring to 11th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), he said the APNGOs would submit a report on the PRC to its chairman at 3 pm on September 18 at the Secretariat. He said the association has made suggestions to the PRC including fixing of minimum pay to government employees.
